Frequently asked questions

What are Restylane SkinBoosters?

Restylane SkinBooster products can help to gradually improve your skin’s condition, increase elasticity, and reduce fine lines and imperfections, such as scarring. A refreshed look can be achieved with Restylane Skinboosters treatments. Skin Boosters are a brand new approach to nourishing your skin, they are specially designed to deliver deep-skin hydration. Hydration levels in the skin are increased, resulting in lasting moisturisation and improvements on the skin’s surface, creating a fresh and natural look. The Restylane range of Skinboosters are the only stabilised Hyaluronic Acid products available for skin revitalisation. This stabilisation ensures a long-term effect.

What is the treatment process like?

The treatment process involves hydrating microinjections of a soft, gel-like substance called Hyaluronic Acid (HA) into the skin, which improves the skin’s firmness, elasticity and radiance. As we age, the quality of our HA reduces over time. Now you have the opportunity to replenish and maintain natural hydration levels from with Restylane Skinboosters. Topical anaesthetic/numbing cream will be applied to the treatment areas. At each treatment your practitioner will administer a series of tiny, fine-needle injections into the mid to deep dermis (the underlying layer of the skin.) These micro injections will focus on your areas of concern. During the procedure, some people experience a certain level of discomfort. Each treatment session usually takes around 15 – 20 mins. A full consultation will be carried out before any treatment to ensure suitability.

How much does is cost?

One 1ml treatment of Restylane Vital SkinBooster - £200 Three 1ml treatments of Restylane Vital SkinBooster - £500 (3 sessions) It is recommended that a course of treatments is booked for optimal results.

How often should I get SkinBoosters?

Injections are typically administered over the course of 2-3 treatment sessions, 2–4 weeks apart, to restore your skin’s elasticity and smoothness in a gradual way. Regular maintenance sessions (approximately every 6 months) occur as planned with your practitioner ensuring lasting results. Clinical studies prove the lasting impact of a Restylane Skinboosters treatment with improvement in skin elasticity of the face and hands for up to 12 months after the initial treatment. What are the risks in this treatment?

Like all injectable treatments, bruising, swelling, infection, vascular compromise and nerve damage are potential risks. An allergic reaction to the products used is also a potential risk, it is important for all clients to be open and honest before any treatment and follow the aftercare advice to minimise these risks.

When should I not have a treatment?

Patients with a known allergy to hyaluronic acid based products should not undergo treatment, nor should patients with bleeding disorders, or active skin disease such as inflammation, infection or tumors in or near the area to be treated. Discuss contraindications, warnings and precautions with your healthcare practitioner before Restylane treatment. You should not consider dermal fillers of any kind if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

What is the difference between a Dermal Filler and SkinBooster treatment?

Standard Dermal Fillers are designed and work to lift deep lines and "fill" areas. Skinboosters are designed to gradually improve your skin’s texture and hydration, increasing elasticity, and reducing fine lines and imperfections from the inside out.
